The Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence Institute is a non-profit organization that searches the universe for signs of extraterrestrial life. SETI uses electromagnetic signals, radio signals and optical telescopes to search for deliberate signals from extraterrestrial intelligence.

History[]

War of 1996[]

In the early morning of July 2, 1996, SETI technician Richard Yamuro was the first to detect a alien signal (which later revealed to be a countdown for the aliens' attack on Earth). Although SETI was initially excited by their discovery, they grew concerned when they triangulated the source of the signal to the Moon. SETI immediately notified the Pentagon and the U.S. government.

After the aliens made their appearance to the world, SETI helped in the ill-fated Operation Welcome Wagon by providing mathematical formulas to communicate with the aliens.

Post War of 1996[]

After the War of 1996, SETI was vastly funded under the Earth Space Defense initiative in which it was given better tools and equipment for probing space in search of alien transmissions.[1]
