Glenn Parness was the White House Chief Staff who served under President Thomas Whitmore.
Parness was summoned to a meeting in the Oval Office by Thomas Whitemore concerning on the discovery of the alien mothership orbiting the Moon. He argued with Albert Nimziki in against his idea to authorize America's alert status to DEFCON Three by informing him that only 50% of the armed forces are on weekend leave to celebrate the Fourth of July and thereby making it difficult to recall their personnel.
